You’ve spent the whole morning getting everything ready for the cookout. The food is prepped, the grill is fired up, the sides are done, and the drinks are chilling on ice.

Then someone asks the question you were hoping to avoid: “What’s for dessert?”

At this point, the last thing you want to do is turn on the oven because nobody wants to be stuck in a hot kitchen while everyone else is outside enjoying the cookout.

That is exactly why I put this list together for you.

If you have not sorted out your main cookout food yet go check out our post on 25 Fourth of July BBQ Recipes That Will Make You the Star of the Cookout first. Then come right back here and we will handle dessert together.

These no-bake desserts are cool, creamy, and completely oven free. Most of them can be made the night before. All of them look stunning on a dessert table. And every single one of them tastes like summer in the best possible way.

Let us get into it.

Why No-Bake Desserts Are the Smart Move This Fourth of July

Here is something most people do not think about until it is too late.

Baking on a hot summer day heats up your whole house. Your guests are already warm from being outside. The last thing anyone wants is a slice of hot cake fresh from a 350 degree oven.

No-bake desserts are actually better for summer entertaining. They are cold, refreshing, easy to make ahead. And they free up your time so you can actually enjoy your own party.

So this year skip the oven completely. Your guests will thank you for it.

Frozen Treats That Will Cool Everyone Down

When the sun is beating down and the kids are running around outside a frozen treat is the best thing you can hand someone. These recipes come out of the freezer cold, creamy, and ready to save the day.

1. Red White and Blue Popsicles

These popsicles are almost too pretty to eat.

Layer strawberry puree in the bottom third of your popsicle mold. Let it freeze for about an hour until firm. Then add a layer of sweetened coconut milk in the middle. Freeze again for another hour. Finally pour blueberry puree on top and freeze overnight.

When you pull them out the colors are perfectly layered in red, white, and blue. They are fruity, creamy, and incredibly refreshing. Kids go absolutely crazy for these and adults eat just as many.

Pull them out right before serving. They are messy in the best possible way and kids will be talking about them for weeks.

Making It All Work Together

You do not need to make all 19 of these desserts. That would be way too much food even for a big party.

Here is a simple formula that works every time. Pick one frozen treat, one creamy dessert, one kid friendly treat, and one bar or cookie.

That gives you variety without overwhelming yourself or your guests.

My personal favorites from this list are the no-bake cheesecake jars, the red white and blue popsicles, the patriotic puppy chow, and the chocolate bark. That combination covers every type of dessert lover at the party.

Make everything the day before. Keep it all in the fridge or freezer. Pull it out when it is time for dessert and watch your guests’ faces light up.

And remember. No oven required. Not even for a second.
